BENGKULUTERKINI.ID – A man with the initial T (65), known as a ‘sorcerer’ or orang pintar (traditional healer) in Maje District, Kaur Regency, has been arrested by police on suspicion of molesting an underage girl identified as Bunga (17). The perpetrator carried out his vile acts under the guise of traditional treatment (healing). The suspect is now detained at the Kaur Police Station. This arrest underscores the authorities’ unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable minors from sexual predators.
IPDA Jelpimon, S.H., M.K.M., Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) at the Kaur Police, confirmed the arrest when interviewed on Monday, November 3, 2025.
“We are handling this case professionally and in accordance with legal procedures. Because the victim is a minor, the handling is being carried out with great caution and in coordination with the PPA Unit and legal counsel for children,” said Jelpimon, representing Kaur Police Chief AKBP Yuriko Fernanda.
The Unit Head explained that the case was revealed based on a Police Report filed on October 21, 2025. “Based on the investigation results, the indecent acts were allegedly committed by the perpetrator between September 25 and October 21, 2025, in two locations, namely Tanjung Baru Village, Maje District, and Kasuk Baru Village, Tetap District,” he elaborated.
The victim (Bunga), a resident of Ciamis Regency, West Java, was allegedly a victim of the suspect T’s persuasion and threats. The modus operandi used by the perpetrator involved deceiving the victim with air jampian (charmed water) which was allegedly mixed with a certain substance until the victim fell asleep. Following this, the perpetrator carried out the indecent acts. His calculated use of deception and coercion highlights the predatory nature of the crime.
The perpetrator T also used threats to prevent the victim from reporting his actions, promising safety and offering gifts to facilitate his crimes.
For his actions, the suspect is charged under Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 regarding Child Protection, specifically referring to Article 82, with a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years. (IRUL)
